Jason brings a broad range of business development and technology management experience to LSL from his previous involvement in venture-stage and Fortune 500 biomedical companies. He specializes in life sciences business and innovation management and regularly works with strategic partnership development, technology planning, concept evaluation and intellectual property strategy development. He structures and negotiates supply, distribution and manufacturing agreements, commercial development partnerships, licensing and technology transfer agreements, research collaborations, and supporting mergers and acquisitions. Jason also has substantial experience managing and structuring transaction and outsourcing relationships in support of clinical development. These range from therapeutics, cell therapy and tissue engineering, to biomaterials, drug delivery/devices, diagnostics and instrumentation platforms.
Prior to joining LSL, Jason managed business development activities at Becton Dickinson's research and innovation division, BD Technologies, in the Research Triangle Park. His duties included scouting and evaluating companies for BD's BioVenture incubators and early-stage investment in the RTP and Singapore. Jason previously worked with start-ups in biotechnology and software and has experience in early-stage investing.
Jason holds a J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law. He received an M.S. in Technology Commercialization from North Carolina State University College of Management and an M.A. from the University of Hawaii. He is admitted to the bar of North Carolina.
