Life Sciences Law, PLLC (LSL) is the first law firm located in the Research Triangle Park area that focuses exclusively on the life sciences sector. We regularly counsel clients on how best to take advantage of scientific breakthroughs and business opportunities both in the United States and abroad. Our attorneys have participated in numerous public offerings (including initial public offerings), venture capital investments, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, technology transfer transactions, university spin outs and initial financing transactions. We have structured complex licensing, distribution, development and manufacturing agreements to allow our clients to meet their current and future business needs.
We differentiate ourselves from our competitors in a number of respects. First, by operating with relatively low overhead, we are able to provide high quality, innovative legal advice in a cost effective manner. Second, LSL provides value added business advice, facilitating business introductions, identifying funding sources and creating business opportunities. Finally, we only hire experienced attorneys with broad business backgrounds. All of our attorneys have experience in management consulting or working for life science companies. Some of our attorneys have been in business development roles for large life sciences companies, while others have been CEOs and founders of funded companies. Every member of our team is ready to hit the ground running to meet your company's needs.
Despite the recent downturn in the economy and the resulting downsizing of most law firms, Life Sciences Law has thrived and expanded. Our clients include large pharmaceutical companies such as Talecris Biotherapeutics, Inc. and Bayer Healthcare, Inc., pre-IPO biotechnology companies such as Inspiration Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. and ImmunoVaccine Technologies Inc., funded companies such as Asklepios Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. and NanoCor Therapeutics, Inc., and spin-outs from the local universities such as Inneroptic Technology, Inc. With the convergence of the agriculture and biotechnology industries, LSL expanded its client base to include Bayer CropScience Corp and StarLink Logistics, Inc.
